My mom is up for an eye appt at Duke, because they found a growth on her good eye (she is blind in the other eye). So she came up last night and I took her this morning. I’ll update more when we get all the final tests back.

Meanwhile, Loren Griggs went to my barn this AM to hoof test Cook. He called me and told me he found the abscess, drained it and she will live.

Big sigh of relief. Loren saved me a crapload of money by not calling the vet.

She will be on another few days of stall rest …. I have so much shavings in her stall, it’s ridiculous… but I wanted her to be able to lay down and rest if she wants to. The other night she did lay down, because she had shavings all in her tail and on her back… so that made me feel good.
