It’s so rare that I type this that I can barely believe it as my fingers press the keyboard..

I had a good day.

Its rare that I have had a WHOLE good day.  Work was good.  I had no headache.

and then I went to the barn.

I was gonna just hack Miss out in preparation for tomorrow’s lesson.  Mere came out and set a jump for us and we went over it again and again.  It was so FUN.  Man, I had FUN.  Mere made the jump wider and scarier… but Miss doesn’t care.  This is not a putdown on Cook to say this - I would NOT have gone over it on Cook.  Or maybe I would have but I would have been scared and nervous, riding defensively in case she backed off of it.
Miss was so stinking awesome!

Riding has always been fun.  I have a horse that I adore (read all the previous posts about Cook), that I know like the back of my hand, has beautiful gaits, and will always, always be my heart.  I will forever be loyal to Cook.

Miss is not cuddly, she doesn’t let me kiss her face like Cook, she will only come to me cause she thinks I might feed her,  she’s girthy, she’s strong… but she has given me such a GIFT.  She has given me back a love for jumping that I forgot… lost… misplaced.   I had a ball today with Mere.

Of course Mere praised me, (we are friends after all, she’s always gonna be like ‘good’!) but the best things she said was that I have gotten stronger and that my stamina is better.

However, the comment that REALLY made my day was Kathy.  She was out watching all of this, and she was complimentary about how Miss looked good, and was jumping “athletically”.  AW I LOVE IT!  YES!

Dern it!  I wish I had my video camera.  I would have loved to watch myself on tape.

    Aw, I feel special. :-)

You didn’t mention HOW Meredith made the jump wider and scarier. ;-) Quite creative use of poles, the mounting block and rocks. Next time watch out for the jolly ball-water trough jump! :-D

:-P If Little Meredith could have dragged the water trough over, I would have been jumping that too.
