Happy Halloween!
Quote of the Day: “I’m not bossy, I’m directive! I’m helping you”

Today during lunch, I went and rode. Emily had set up our back field with natural jumps. (For non horsey people, its just scary jumps made of various branches, logs, firewood, and generally un-inviting things). It’s different than riding in the safety of the ring and alot of horses aren’t keen on jumping out-of-the-ordinary obstacles.
I was trying to be cautious for 2 reasons - 1, although I did take Miss to the Moss Foundation, I don’t have alot of experience jumping ‘cross-country’ jumps and only one experience jumping with Miss over them. and 2, I had to go back to work and couldn’t afford to go back to work, mangled. or broken. or both.
People must be tired of me blogging about the awesome-ness of Miss or how much I like her. But indulge me one more time, my faithful readers (all 3 of you)….
It is a rare and special horse that has the heart that I feel on this mare. She is SMART, CONSISTENT, HARD WORKING, and KNOWS HER JOB.
Miss went over everything with confidence and ease, didn’t look at anything AT ALL.
Had fun.

Went after work and hopped on Cook bareback. Walked her around, then scrubbed her legs and put her back in wraps.

I can appreciate your comments about Miss, and I feel the same way. I’m always eager to talk about Moon. He loves his job, especially cross country, and you just have to love a horse who is always willing to try. As I sometimes say, Moon is not the biggest horse in our barn, but he has the biggest heart.
