Pick Me. Choose Me. Love Me.
So yes, I’m still watching Season 2 of Grey’s. I just finished watching that speech. LOVED IT.
“I lied. I’m not out of this relationship, I’m in. I’m so in, it’s humiliating. So here I am, begging.” “I love you.” “So pick me. Choose me. Love me.”

Sadly, I know a horse who passed away yesterday. Alot of my barn friends know Mimi, the mini (click here to see her page) that visits our farm. Mimi passed away from colic at her home and will be greatly missed. For those who want to send Elise an email, please contact me and I will tell you her email address. It would be really great for you to send her an email letting her know your sympathies.
We went to Elise’s house and helped say goodbye to Mimi.

I took Caddie to the vet today because she has gone downhill very significantly. I was doing pretty well until the vet came in and looked at his sheet and said “so shes gone downhill?” Then I just burst out crying. and crying pretty hard. I could barely get anything out after that. What made it even worse was that Caddie was looking up at me, shivering with fear and tried to cuddle in my chest, hiding. The vet didn’t sugarcoat anything but he said we could try some different meds and see if there is a response …. we go back in a week. He also thinks there might be something else like cancer or something that blood test won’t pick up… so I got some new (costly) meds and we will see. I know that the time to let her go is coming near, but I just can’t yet.

I had lunch with Meredith and we talked about Mimi. I told her that although I handle things like that (and other emergencies) quite well… that I know I will not be as sane when the time comes for Cook. It upsets me to even discuss it. I will never be the same if anything happens to Cook.

I cried for Caddie, cried for Mimi, cried for the knowledge that we love our animals but they aren’t promised to us very long.

On brighter notes, I rode today! wow! after a bunch of days off due to sickness and weather. Miss was pretty good, tried a new bit on her. I will ride her again in it tomorrow and see how it does on day 2.
After riding Miss, I wanted to hop on Cook, but I didn’t feel like grooming and tacking and all that…. I grabbed Cook out of the pasture, hooked on some lead ropes as reins and rode her bareback while barn friends rode. I like riding her in a halter and bareback. she’s so ultra- responsive. I was playing around in the ring, making her do side passes and pivot on her forehand…. all in a halter… she’s so awesome!
