wow!  2 in a row!  I might be on the road back to Sanity-ville if this keeps up!

Had fun at the barn.

Ok - first Cook.  As I have been blogging, Cook is getting back into work.  Real work.  Not just the pasture-pet-do-what-I-wanna horse.  As she was recovering, she was good when I hopped on her bareback, or tooled around on her.

However, she has had an attitude about getting back into work work.  She’s sound 110%.  Her attitude is the Throughbred Ball Of Fury.

So she starts out NOT WANTING ME TO CATCH HER.  (insert cussing here &%# &%$^ *&$^%)

That never happens.  I make FUN of other people who can’t catch their horse.

So I put her on the lunge to get her “Thoroughbred Ball of Fury” out.  I am actually bragging to Kathy about how well she does on the lunge now when she goes berserk and about rips my arm out.  :rear

So anyway, I lunge her a good amount and then I sit on her.  All I wanted her to do was WALK…. and TROT…. and WALK… and TROT…..  not hard here, Cook.  Two year olds can do this.  So the end result was that she made several ugly faces, switched her tail, generally acted pissy at first, but gave in and obliged me.  I wasn’t happy about how she acted, but I was satisfied we made some progress (or at least what I am hoping is progress).

We didn’t even try to canter (her little brain would have exploded).

It makes me tired thinking I have to do this again tomorrow.

So then I rode Miss.  She was lovely.  Cantering was fun.  What else is there to say?  She was good.   Oh, and we had an audience, so it made life a lil sweeter.  I’m glad I was on Miss, rather than Cook.  (how sad is that?!?!!?!?  Where is my good pony!?!??!)
