So I came home today wondering what the hell I could eat. hmm, I guess 4 frozen chicken tender things and 3 mozz cheese sticks will have to suffice.

I am laying down now. I have a long weekend planned ahead for me so today will be the day where I do nothing.

didn’t see Cook as I came straight home.

So today was pretty routine.  It was like 80 today and our last supposed day of good weather.  The beginning of the cold spell is gonna be on us.  Sigh.  That means less riding time with lots of layers on.  Boo.  I will be glad when Ashley is back out to ride with me.  I know she just gave birth and all but dern it!  I need her to ride with me!  I miss her alot.

 I didn’t have time to go but I did go out and see Cook.  Brushed the dirt off… oh and tried to braid her tail.  it looked pretty bad but it was the first time I tried to braid her tail, so I expected it to look bad.  I need to google some pictures to see how far I go down and etc.  I could talk to Lauren too and see how far she braids Elvis’ tail down.  I am thinking of braiding her for my Christmas Cards pics.  I thought about braiding with little bells but Eric thought that was pushing the corniness card.  Boo!  I might still do that - it just depends on how motivated I am when he gets here.  I miss scrapbooking pages of her but as faithful blog readers know… I had to leave all my stuff in Austin. 

When Eric is here, I have two photo sessions planned - Christmas cards and galloping pics.  

so on the TV watch tonight, Lost again.  it was slightly more interesting tonight than in previous weeks but that’s not saying a whole lot.  Again I am asking myself why I watch this show.  Although they tried to portray Michelle Rod. more sympathetic… I still dont like her.  I hope Sayid opens up a can of whup on her.

Meanwhile in other EXCITING NEWS , I started cross stitching again instead of scrapbooking about Cook.  I will have to post the pics when I finish…. in 2008!  I don’t know why I didn’t choose a smaller pattern.  Good gawd, I’m tired of it already.

nighty-nite 

So yesterday Cook was extremely good and did no hopping.  we changed the back pad under her saddle based on advice I had gotten from my friend Kevin.  Today I tried again and although its better than it has been in the past two weeks, it’s still not normal.  I’m gonna wait until i get back from austin and then have fernando come out to give her a check up.  I’m frustrated.

 I have nothing else to blog cause that’s the only thing on my mind.

going to bed.  it will be better tomorrow 

Rode 3 today.  Cook… good behaviorally, still off on the right.  I couldn’t get her to pick up the right (hand) lead over a pole, even on the bending line to the right.  Missy… she was good.  had fun cantering around on her.  Missy has a sensitive gas pedal, which I always appreciate in a horse.  Then got to hop on Susan’s horse Nate… who is NICEEEEEEEEEEEE.  NICE.  well trained. 

Lauren pulled Cook’s mane too.  Thanks, L.  It takes her like 20 minutes, whereas it takes me like 20 hours.  That’s good though, I won’t have to worry about it for the next 2/3 months.   

Going to try and ride at lunch some of the next three days cause the last of the warm weather is upon us.   

I’m beat. Just wanted to note my horse adventures for diary purposes.  I’m going to bed but I have been having trouble sleeping.

630Am comes early.  I went to feed breakfast and it was C-O-L-D.  So I fed, turned out and then left to come home and take a nap.  Then I went back to ride with Upton and Elvis.  Cook was good.  I actually hopped over some poles on the ground and let her canter away just to have some FUN again.  Cook was good girl. 

SO I go home to shower and change and Upton calls me.  It seems the trusty Exploder has … well… indeed exploded.  Ok, maybe not exploded, but overheated.  So she needs ride to the Prix.  except I have no back seat.  AND a TON of horse crap in the back.  So Upton must squish back there cause Debbie is going to the Prix too.

 So we make it there (and get Upton out of my trunk).  Grand Prix Time!  yay!  big jumps!  It was really awesome (as usual).  8 riders made the jump-off.  Everything was pretty safe until the last rider pushed his horse to keep going even though they were already eliminated.  Horse crashed the fence… rider and horse went down.  Riders come off often… horses down though catches my breath and makes me sad.  But the horse got up and cantered away.  So I hope and pray that he is ok.  Someone is gonna get some bute tonight.

 So now i’m home.  In bed.  night, folks.

So after staying up all night with Birdie, the sick beagle, I thought today might not be the best day.  Maureen and I had a EOY meeting with our VP.  That went pretty well.  I have a really funny boss.  She makes me laugh.  In the positions we are in, we have to sometimes put up with a bunch of crap.  So it helps to be able to crack jokes about it.

 So after meeting I went out to the barn and rode Cook with Lauren and Elvis.  I am scaling Cook’s work program back to give her some time off without giving her some time off.  I know … doesn’t sound like it makes much sense, does it?  Basically I am taking it easy on her, doing different drills, going back to basics instead of our normal (boring) work regiment.  Because of the arthiritis in her hocks, she needs to be in work… otherwise she stiffens up and worse off.  But I think she might need some down time to just be a horse and also quite frankly, she might be bored.  Pretty much she’s so used to our routine, that she knows what we are doing before I do.  I plan to ride her in different pastures instead of sticking to the ring.

So the FUN part of my day was Lauren let me hop on Elvis and canter him around.  Sigh.  He’s my next favorite horse (to Cook of course) to ride.  He has gas, he has brakes, he has smooth gaits.  What more can u ask?  So that was cool. 

 OH!  I can’t believe this.  They canceled my favorite show  … Arrested Development.  I know it has been a long time coming but still…. WHY DIDN’T THIS SHOW CATCH ON?  It’s the funniest show EVER.

Anyway i’m sleepy and have been naping on and off.  Going to the barn EARLY tomorrow and then the Grand Prix is tomorrow night.  EXCITED!   

The ole bird dog got sick all last night.  It wouldn’t have been so bad but after she got sick I crated her… so she could get sick in the crate if she needed to further.  Of course Caddie was sleeping in the bedroom with me.  Well she was not happy about that.  She cried and barked all night.  I yelled at her about every hour.  UGH!  I have a meeting this morning!  I have to stay awake!

 I didn’t ride yesterday cause I got out of work a lil later and so it was dark by the time I got out.  This time of year sucks.  I rode every day during the summer so this is just a cycle of down time. I’m still trying to pressure Lauren to steal her Dad’s truck and take C&E somewhere on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. 

Whew!  Must go to work.  I’m sleepy already!

 On another note, its’ cool that I have almost 1000 hits already.   Prolly by this weekend.  POST if u are the 1000th hit.  I wanna know who it was.

Hav nothing to report except I just wasted an hour of my life watching Lost.  This show started off good and now it sucks but I am too invested to pull out now.  So I keep watching and keep hating. 

Real world falls into this same category.  

PS.  For those interested in Cook (only Alexis), we rode in the pasture tonight.  She was good.  

I had high hopes for today. Got to work, everything was groovy. Mere called and said she would have Cook ready to go for me to ride at lunch. yay! coolness.
 
I get there and Cook is a pill. a lil poopy-head. What is going on with the pony?? ARGHHHHHH. 

I was going to go BACK out but decided to cut my losses for the day. No use in getting madder at her when I’m in a foul mood to begin with.  I’m thinking we would get nowhere.  

I have alot of chores to do here in the house… but ZERO motivation. actually negative motivation because I don’t even feel like doing nothing.. I feel like sleeping.   i’m also eating oreos.  I don’t really like regular oreos… never have.  These are chocolate filled and vanilla cookie ones.  I cap myself at 3. 

 Man I hope Tuesday is better. Birdie must know how I feel.  it’s only 620 and already shes’ crawled into bed with mom.  She must have had a tough day as well.  On a funny note, the Office is coming on tonight.  That show is growing on me.

For those who don’t watch the show, u might know him as the guy from the Mariah Carey’s videos “it’s like that” and “we belong together”. ah, Wenty. IMDB lists his birthday as June 2nd which is only 1 day apart from mine. That must mean something! AND, he’s MIXED. No wonder I love him. Mixed babies are the best! We tan year round!

- Arrested Development. No one watches this show. Everyone who does loves it. Sigh…. it will prolly get canned.
