Today I just flatted Cook and came home. I am tired. Too tired to blog and not sure if I am gonna make it to midnight.

Cook was A+.

ok here’s the story behind this story. About 8 (?) months ago, I had a bad fall over my favorite jump. What we call ‘The picnic table’. It was just a freak refusal. I just wasn’t prepared for her to stop. Perhaps I was careless cause we had gone over so many times that I took it for granted that she would go over without even asking. So anyway, I was slung off and landed right on top of it. I got back on immediately and did make her go over it. (Adrenline from anger is better pain medicine than anything they can give u). My elbow swelled slightly and I was sore the next days but what was really hurt was my confidence over that stupid jump. Haven’t jumped it since. And what’s really stupid is that Cook WILL go over it. Mere hopped on her a few days later and took her over it and she went fine. However I have rejected all nags to go over it.

So anyway yesterday (as previously blogged) Cook was excellent. I got on today and as soon as she walked off I could tell this was our day. I knew she would be excellent. We jumped around very nicely. She was fun. I was having a Jump-a-thon with Ash K and Upton on Missy and Elvis respectively, two horses ironically that get along with Cook rather well. So 3 friends were on 3 horse friends. Cute. So towards the end Ash and Lauren were encouraging me to go over it. and not naggy-ur-a-chickenshit-nag. A good, u-can-do-it encouragement. I asked Mere what she thought and she snorted and was like of course u can. Eric said u can do it, babe! So I put on my big kid pants, squeezed Cook’s sides all the way to the jump and she went over it like a pro. No problem. Yay! Picnic is conquered! (again).

Eric took pictures (mostly for scrapbook purposes). I can’t say enough to anyone who will listen how absolutely A-W-E-S-O-M-E he has gotten at it. He has the timing down perfectly.

Aw. Horsies are fun. I can’t wait to go out tomorrow. Cook is getting a nice flat day workout.

My spirits were down today so I went out to ride Cook.

She was awesome! Very fun. Very fast. Rode with Ashley and Aurin. We pretty much didn’t walk - trotted and jigged from the start. She cantered nicely and we went over a few low jumps. Very nice!

It’s days with Cook like this that make everything else better. I have alot on my mind right now and it helped to be with her.

Eric is getting good at the horsie things. yay for him. he’s learning alot. not only that but he takes the best jump pics.. gets them perfect. he takes the best pics of cook and I and I want to think it’s cause he is starting to learn her and her strides. maybe i’m reading too much into it. anyway …

1. Eggnog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate. I used to like eggnog but the thought of it now makes me a lil sick.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Depends on how big the present was. Smaller presents are wrapped. Rich’s spiderman bike was unwrapped.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? colored.

5. When do you put your decorations up? not really in the apt but I want to prolly the 2nd week of Dec when I have kids.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? mac and cheese, mom’s fried rice

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Trying to stay up with Richard to catch Santa

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? can’t remember

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? yes usually

10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? I think whatever we had laying around.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? used to love it as a child but now-a-days that means no riding cause my horse has shoes. (eric asked why and it’s cause the shoes trap ice).

12. Can you ice skate? yes

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? sure. I have lots of gifts that I have loved. Marilyn, necklace.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Spending time with family

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? cake.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Hanging out with Rich

17. What tops your tree? used to be a star
18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving? Giving mostly but depends on what i’m receiving.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Ding! The fries are done! (theresa will laugh)

20. Candy Canes? my horse likes them

21. Favorite holiday movie? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

22. Did your family have a KIDS table? Nope

23. Any family tradition that you’re trying to carry forward? dunno yet. I can’t wait until i have kids and then I can make everyone come to my house!!

On Tuesday, eric and I got ready to leave when my jeep “check engine” light came on. So we were delayed and I didn’t get to see Cook. good part is that it was just a small spark plug issue.

So I came home and slightly unpacked. Wasn’t feeling well. took meds and went to bed.

Today I went to work early, got off, went to lunch with eric’s mum and then went to ride Cook. she was awesome! We just rode in the pasture for a few minutes but her canter was very sweet. I’m anticipating a good day tomorrow.

Birdie came home and collapsed cause she was so exhausted from the puppy. She pretty much was the only one who at the end would play with Izzy. Caddie and Bashiedo pretty much wanted to be left alone. Caddie would growl or walk away and Bashiedo would ignore her until she gave up. I forgot what it was like to have a puppy. They are so cute and fun… and non-peeing outside. I don’t miss having a puppy. :-)

I got some cool gift certificates for Xmas and I ate WAYYYY too much. Pretty much sums up Xmas.

Watched a bunch of movies today (all repeats). Hung out with Jerry, Eric and Rich. Jer wanted to play spades but Rich was too afraid and wasnt’ game. oh well. no one wants to go against the Lifetime Spades Partners.

I have tons of cute cute pics that I will be blogging once I get home. Too tired to deal with it now.

All the dogs have been getting along good. Everyone who comes over has a comment like it’s a zoo, pound, dog park, etc. It’s a good thing we have well behaved dogs cause 5 dogs is a lot in one house. Izzy is so sweet and cute. She (along with Bashiedo and Birdie) slept with me last night. At least it gave rich one night of rest.

Well I’m about to go to bed. Hope everyone had a good night.
