had a good day.  sleep is setting in so I will make this short and sweet.

Went to work 1/2 day.  Went to see Cook.  she was quiet.  yay.  went to lunch with 2 of my favorite people.  Went to a spa (eric’s v day present).  that was ultra cool.  man, did my back need that.

Nothing much to say except I had a really good day.  I feel like I have been going since early AM but I got alot accomplished today.  Had lots of laugh with Theresa.  I miss going out with her.  We especially like being critical of clothing at stores.

The funniest part tho had to be when I purchased new eyeliner at Belks at the Benefit counter.  I just wanted the EXACT same brown eyeliner that I always use.  The sales lady was determined to broaden my horizons and suggested a purple eyeliner ….  THAT SHE WANTED ME TO TRY ON!  THERE!  um.  no.  So I decline and homegirl got a lil defensive.   Then Theresa and I started giggling and that just made things worse.

“U don’t understand - she barely wears makeup!!  Its like a special day if she wears makeup!  and it’s all natural brown tones!  She’s not putting on purple eyeliner!!  (Theresa)

I went to Fayetteville to drop Eric off at his parents’ house to get his car.  I didn’t do much except go out to Ruby Tuesday’s with my mom and Rich.  I got Richie a Valentine’s present:  a 16×20 framed pic of the 3 of us  - him, Ariana and me.  I knew it was one of our favorite pictures so I got it blown up.  He needs something to hang on the walls of his house. He’s doing well.  Love u Rich.

So now I’m just home and tired.  catching some zzz’s.  I was supposed to have a lesson in the AM but it’s cold and rainy here.  blech.  might re-arrange my schedule for work this week.  I’m supposed to be taking half days on Monday and Tuesday, but I might change that to Tues and Wed cause the weather is better.   It’s nasty here!  I might as well work!

I tried to ride yesterday but it wasn’t happening.

I went out and spent some quiet time with Cook. I didn’t mess with her neck today so she seemed to be happier to see me.

Mere has been awesome in dealing with Cook’s current neurosis.

She will get better.

I was pretty disappointed in the Office yesterday.  It was hyped to be a very special moment between Jim and Pam and absolutely nothing happened.  Poo.  On the other hand, Dwight was pretty sweet with the key.  Michael also surprised me at the end.

Food sanitation at horse shows is very limited. Yes, I am putting my horsey hand in the teddy grams.

Its not a horse show until someone cries.

Everyone has boot pulls… until it comes time to pull on ur boots. Then there’s one pair and everyone has to share.

Show-sheening your horse’s neck before a jump class is a bad, bad idea.

At the HHC, they announce 10 minutes until FIREWORKS for a reason.

Some horses aren’t meant to be braided.

There is nothing u can say to make anyone feel better after they fall. Except their horse is a PITA. (shout out to L.U.)

Every show and judge is different. Sometimes they love u and u can do no wrong. Sometimes they hate ur thoroughbred.

Jumps always look bigger away from home.

*Nothing* is worse than trying to peel sweaty riding pants down in a port-a-potty.

The definition of acceptable food items for consumption varies greatly. Soggy fries, warm chocolate, grey hot dogs…

Goodie’s powders, advil, or aleve can all be considered… breakfast.

At some point, everyone has gone off course.

went out to the barn to see Cook. Sigh. She didn’t have a good day today but this WILL get better. Gonna try some different things. I wish it was summer. I know I keep saying that. But she is truly different in the summer and it will be nice to ride later in the warmth of the setting sun.

i’m not even gonna mess wit video tonight cause I have chores to do. the pile of laundry on my saddle is getting high. I should prolly do something about that. Plus the grammy’s and that horse show that I am already addicted to is coming on so there. that’s my night.

Rich is having a shoot this weekend and I will be glad that I will be home to see a lil of it. I told him that I was coming cause I want him to come to more horse shows this season. I am excited to start showing again. At the end of the “season” last year, I was tired of it. The prep-work is hell but I feel re-energized about it. I brought all my stuff home from the barn in order to organize it for shows. I found a smashed box of leftover teddy grams in my show bag. I’m thinking those were prolly too old to even give to the dogs.

Ok, I’m done. I think this was prolly the most boring blog ever. Way to stick through it, whoever is reading this. All 3 of u.

I FINALLY got the firewire card working on my puter. (with technical support over the phone with Eric)

So I did a bunch of videos! I’ll post when I get more organized .. but meanwhile here are 2.

I had an uneventful day. Woke up, went to work, came home, blogging, going to bed early. I’m just tired and recovering from the weekend, which included extracurricular activities designated for adults over 21 as mandated by state law :-)

I would be preachy tonight cause I have alot of wheels turning but damn’t. I’m way too tired to proofread any crap I might splew out. So instead, i’m sitting here rubbing Birdie’s soft ears, listening to Anna Nalick. Who is truly depressing. Even when she’s not trying to be depressing, she still is.

So now I lay down to fight what has become my pattern of insomnia. Usually I am able to fall asleep but then I wake up extremely early. (~3am) Really stinks. I then toss and turn and beg the Sleep Gods to spare me until I finally decide at 530 or so to go ahead and get up and get ready for work. So the good part is that I have been in work early. Bad news is I’m pooped by 4pm. I am under a *little* stress but not *extraordinary* stress. I just go through spurts of things spinning in my mind. I think when I was younger that I released my stress through my temper but now that I’m older, that doesn’t really fly. So apparently my mind has decided to just spin. relentlessly.

Oh and BTW, don’t bother posting comments with suggestions like relax! take a bath! no caffeine!

um, doesn’t matter. doesn’t work. I’ve been an insomniac for a long long while. This is a mental condition.

** Birdie has been laying here beside me for the past hour, snoring like crazy.  She seems to have no issues sleeping.
