Saw 3-shoed Cook today. i’m still mad at her. I messed around with Tiggy and helped Mere do Elvis eye meds. I feel bad for him - not only does he look like he came out on the losing end of a fight, but he’s really very tired of everyone messing with his eye. He has to get 4 shots of meds 5 times a day, 12 pills twice a day, a paste twice a day and a partridge in a pear tree. I shove treats at him while mere is doing the meds and hes’ in a quandry… he likes treats but hates meds… i like treats but hate meds…. what do I do?

AND to add insult to Elvis injury, Cook is in heat and seems to be hitting on Apogee and Duly, our resident 3 YEAR OLD. The Apogee thing is sad not so much cause she is a MARE (she is!) but because I believe she prolly has more testosterone than any other male horse in our barn. Think I’m making a joke? I’m not. THAT’S the sad part. :-P

The Duly part is just gross cause geez, Cook u knew him when he was just a baby! Hello! ok Mrs. Robinson!

So my mood from last night continued into today. I have this really bad habit of when I’m determined to be in a bad mood, then everything just irritates me. So I was annoyed with Cook, annoyed with people at work, annoyed with the fact I have so much to do in the next 4-5 months. So I was brewing in my own toxic fumes, when Scootie IM-ed and we went and got breakfast. Every now and then, when I least expect it, he makes things right with the world.

Cook was bad today.  Not even discussing it.  B-A-D.  and oh get this!  She threw another shoe!  My horse hates me.  Sigh.  She’s inventing ways of getting out of show season.

Meanwhile Cook’s new past-time is to watch Tig through the bars that separate them.  Tig is EXTREMELY pregnant and is about to drop that kid any minute.  Apparantly Cook thinks ANY minute cause she has her FACE glued to the window.

construction down at ring had Cook’s brain fried.  She’s had better days.  Bucked me at the canter but I made her go on.  and on.  still bucking.  Machines stopped.  Asked for canter again.  No bucking.  Decided to call it a day.

Sometimes ur mare is good.  Sometimes she ain’t.

what amazes me is how she affects my mood.  When shes’ good, I’m flying high.  When she’s less than par, it really puts me in a foul mood.

Speaking of which, I believe our first show will be next weekend.  I talked to my mom tonight and she wants to come but I’m not sure.  Last time she came, I ate dirt for lunch.  I think I might wanna get through the first show of the season without any added pressure not to completely screw up.

i’m not motivated to do anything. really tired. didn’t see Cook but mere told me she got her shoe tacked back on. yay.

I have never been a big LL fan (my cousins used to drool over him) but in this video…. he’s totally ripped. always gotta appreciate that. I’m not a big JLo fan either but she looks good in the video and I like her little hooks.

been at the barn all day but didn’t get to ride cause Cook threw a shoe.

how is that for karma? I was just telling someone that Cook never throws shoes.

I forgot to mention on Friday that my jeep spung a leak in the water pump so Rich and I traded vehicles.  I’m driving his truck.  He had the jeep fixed by Sat morning but we were too lazy to meet halfway and trade vehicles back.  Rich said prolly Thursday. 

My brudder is ze best!

I am so lazy today and I have no idea why! can’t get motivated!

Anyway I went and saw Elvis this morning. he’s doing ok. I think he’s tired of being there. He was extremely affectionate and seemed happy to see me (i.e. anyone he knew that wasn’t sticking him with something). I put pics of Cook and him together on his door just as a reminder that Love is waiting for him back home.

Went and saw Miss Thang. She was just chilling in the pasture. Lauren had gotten Elvis these “treats” that he (elvis) did not like. the horse eats PIZZA AND CHEETOS for crying out loud. So I was skeptical that Cook, picky horse she is, would like these. however I gave her the benefit and gave her this crap-treat that was hard as a brick and looked like overbaked sausage patties. SHE CRUNCHED IT AND THEN SPIT IT ON THE GROUND… LIKE I HAD GIVEN HER FUNGUS TO EAT. She looked at me with utter contempt and disgust.

I gave the other half to Tig and she ate it but that doesn’t count cause she’s pregnant, and pregnant people will eat anything.

I dropped off Eric at the airport for him to go back to Texas for 2.5 months. I will miss him. Birdie, on the other hand, is dancing a jig. She’s happy to have mom back. First thing, she hopped into her part of the bed.

UPDATE:  Lauren and I went to see Elvis late last night.  He pooped!!  He pooped!! and he ate!  he was hungry!  yay, Elvis Bowel Systems!

I wasn’t going to ride cause I was running short on time (had to get to Fayetteville) but I hopped on anyway. Cook was fresh (what do u expect, she had been off for two days, it was chilly and I had to rush), but she was excellent.

went and saw elvis at lunch. he looks good. (good for being at the vet hospital).

Rachel got a new horse, Addie. Congrat’s Rachel. She’s very cute and will be Cook’s new pasture mate while Elvis is away.

I didn’t ride tonight but I wanted to have SOMETHING accomplished. So its’ 80 degrees and Cook was really dirty so she got a bath. She was muddy!

The pictures didn’t really turn out well cause it was getting dark and Cook was not cooperating. but here is the best one that shows how good she looked after Mum (with help from Rachel and Alexis) scrubbed all the dirt out. I put half a bottle of conditioner in her too-long-needs-pulled mane.

She’s so pretty. You can see her little ouchy in the picture.

Elvis, Cook’s pasture mate / husband, is hurt and in surgery right now. We are all saying a lil prayer for him.

It was warm but I didn’t ride cause everyone was done at the barn.  I helped Mere wash Tiggy’s legs, and private, about-to-have-a-baby parts.  :-P  She looks really good.  I am highly anticipating the birth of her COLT. 

U know come to think of it, I didn’t even really talk to Cook today.   I saw her through the stall grate.  I just got busy and then Mere and I had to go to M&M.  What the heck was i thinking?!
