So first thing, u have prolly noticed that my banner has changed. I LOVE IT! Lauren Upton did it… mostly cause I’m extremely un-talented and she’s on the other end of that spectrum when it comes to stuff like that.

She did happen to use one of my favorite jump pictures because I actually… look pretty decent in it. See usually I look like crap, or Cook looks like crap… and well here, we both look like we are making an effort. Which isn’t always the case.

I’m really impressed with my comments the last three posts. just when I think no one is reading, and I’m basically writing to myself then people start being active again. Thanks for all the concern about Caddie. She will be fine. This, like my horse’s hocks, are an ongoing issue so it’s hard to rattle me about it…. She will have to get alot worse before I start to be scared.

Rode again at 6am with Ash and Jen Carr. Fun. I believe that Cook is off on her right side again. She is listening and doing well but she is having problems again with her right lead canter. Sigh. I will prolly have Fernando look at her soon, maybe in the next two weeks. We might have to go to Adequan.

Went to the horse show at lunchtime-ish today. Got there just perfectly to watch the 4ft division go. I’m gonna stop through this weekend as well.

So I saw Superman Returns. Sigh. It sucked.

Stop reading now if you don’t want to know why it sucked or u plan on seeing this movie or if Superman is your favorite superhero of all time….

Ok, let me start by saying that I know that the actual story of Superman takes some suspension of believability… I mean seriously… how are glasses a disguise? HOWEVER…. here are my issues.

1) all the characters were miscast. Jimmy oslen..annoying…. kate bosworth is too young to be lois and have a 5 year old. … routh was too wooden. You don’t believe that this couple (Superman and Lois) could even be FRIENDS, much less have conceived a child. They have ZERO chemistry.

2) lex had the stupidest devious plot scam ever. what? huh? make a new continent that will flood the USA? ugh.

3) what was the point of the superkid except to give lois a big reason to be mad and to have something to expand on in Superman returns 2 in 2009. ugh. again. ugh.

4) are u telling me that no one noticed the clark disappeared at the same time as superman and then reappeared… and then disappeared again? especially when the time span is 5 years. ugh!

5) so at the beginning he crash lands in a space ship on his Earth mom’s lawn… where did he get this ship? how did he get the remains of his planet?

6) I thought Superman was the only superhero but apparently Lois ain’t bad herself. Cause she is SLAMMED around on a plane without a scratch or bruise, pummeled by a bad guy, almost drowned, knocked on the head unconscious by a door… gimme a break. and she walks away.

So I got up at 6am this morning to go ride Cook.  She was very good, especially considering she had several days off.  I thought she would be fresh but she wasn’t.  We worked again for about 5-10 minutes on collection.  She is getting better and better.  The rest of the time we just relaxed and did the basics.  I haven’t jumped her in a while.   I’m really making an effort to save her hocks and legs.  I’m thinking of going to the MacNair’s intro dressagey test thingys and doing that with her.  anyway, I was pleased with her.

Caddie my cocker spaniel has been having hip problems.  She went to the vet today and of course it was gloom and doom.  So she is on meds and she’s got a condition that will only worsen.  Oh well.  She will be fine and if she isn’t, then she has had a good life.  No one can ever claim that dog isn’t loved.

I’m blogging through the exhaustion I feel because I’m sure the wedding party wants to see these pics. So I’m throwing these pics up here. I’m not editing or naming all these pictures… just gonna throw them in a folder and interested parties can go there. As for details on the wedding, it was just perfect. Camden was just gorgeous and everything went pretty smoothly. I had a great time.

Two personal highlights for me: 1, I forgot any sort of earrings. I was about to leave to go to the Manor when my mom asked me about earrings. When I told her I forgot any, she gave me her earrings that she had planned on wearing. She said she could go without, but I should have them because I was in the wedding. That meant alot to me.

2, I danced with my brother. That will be something I will always remember.

And yes. All 3 boys are as cute in person as they are in the pictures. :-) This is towards the end of the night and I’m looking a lil tired but I still love it that we are with them.

we made it into Reston yesterday.

Funny - I had Eric pull off in Frederickburg’s and we stopped at a gas station.  I had his laptop out watching repeats of The Office.  He checked for a wireless connection and we got one!  I know!  We’re dorks!  So we had internet access to look up scrapbook stores, so we went by 2.  No new horsey stuff but I got some cool paper.  Eric was a good sport about taking me and he didn’t huff and puff like some OTHERS THAT I KNOW. (AHEH!  MY BROTHER!)

BTW, the cookbook…  It’s now Cook BOOKSSSS.  as in TWO volumes.  sad?  yes.  tell me about it.

No one can ever accuse Cook of not being loved.

Rode with Ashley and Aurin.  Cook was super duper awesome.  We just flatted (trying to save her legs for jumping).  She did go on the bit easier and faster than the previous times.  I think she has figured out what I am asking.

I have pics of Aurin and Ash but I’m leaving to go to Cam’s wedding (yay) so they will have to wait until I get back.

I’m not worried about Cam - she will be beautiful and everything will be awesome.  I just hope I don’t like trip down the aisle or break out in a freakish, parvo (just for instance….) rash.

I just need my body to cooperate for the next 48 hours.

That’s all I have for today. It was hot and we were both sweaty. She was a good listener tho.

Oh, I did get her collected for about 4 strides about 3 times when Mere came down to the ring.  That’s pretty impressive because sometimes when we try and show off in front of Mere, Cook acts like she doesn’t know what I’m talking about.

I didn’t do much on Cook today. We worked on a lil collection at the trot. Cook did good. I helped Mere finish up the barn and then I came on home.

For those that don’t know, Anna is perhaps my favorite female artist.  Last year she was doing a bunch of small club gigs (nowhere near here) and I got to see her.  She was awesome!  So I’m way excited.
