Rode Cook today.
She was b-a-d.
We are going to Greensboro on Friday for a 3 day horse show.
Cook + Bad at Home = Bad at Show = Crystal very mad.
Mere tried to be very encouraging. She said it was just prolly she was mad that she wasn’t turned out when all her friends (Taylor and Linky) were. She stayed in because I was coming to ride her.
Whatever it is, Cook better get with the program. I love that mare with all my heart…. but don’t play, Cook. I’m not in the mood for it.
So of course my avid readers want to know what she was doing. Um, let’s see.
Bucking after the jump… actually… bucking after ALL the jumps. Kicking out. Doing her up and down at the canter pop-ups. Holding her head high like ‘crazy mare’ high. oh and then!! last 2 jumps… completely TAKING OVER and charging them. Taking over is just like her charging and jumping without listening to anything ur doing or saying. I wasn’t left behind… but I essentially was just being dragged over a jump, cause she was just doing her own thing.
So we gave up. tried to end on a decent, not being dragged around, note. Like just CANTERING regularly. Um, no. Crazy. Ok, try to just trot around. Um, no. Crazy. Let’s just pitch a fit, WHY DON’T WE, YOU BRATTY MARE!
kathy suggested I try a gelding. Geez, I’m not that desparate yet. I have only loved 1 gelding - Elvis. and thats only cause he’s the man.
I left Kevin 3 messages in a row on his phone.
1st message - “My horse is bad. U fix” (really means - You fix NOW or I will cry)
2nd message - “My horse is bad. U fix now.” (really means - You fix NOW or YOU will be riding her in G’boro, dealing with her crap!)
3rd message - “Don’t tell me that she will be fine for Greensboro. My horse has no problem with acting like a d*mn fool away from home. (ALA Buckhorn, the HHC, 1st time at Triton, Morning of the Rocky Mount Show).”
(really means - I know you’re a guy and therefore, comforting words are hard to come by, but please. Think of something!)
So anyway. How about some comments to Cook?
