whew I’m tired.

Did the barn, rode Cook briefly, went to the new Triangle Horse Sports, went to a new scrapbookin’ store, met rich for dinner and now I’m home.

pooped!

I need to take a shower and then I will hit the sack early.  Theresa and Montgomery came out to the barn today and we got cute pictures but not on my camera so I have to wait to see the pics.

Little gave birth early this morning.

The 3 kittens are strong, healthy and BIG. It’s like Little waited and let them bake an extra week.

If I saw them and didn’t know they were hours old, I would guess they were a week old.

Little and Litter are doing well.

Smarter than a 5th grader?

who likes this show???  it sucks.  ugh.  horrible TV.

Greys  - my fave show but they are messing up by one, having a spin off and two, by having Izzy fall for George.  I wish they would all stop sleeping with each other.

thanks for all the well wishes and concerns about my fall.  It happens.  I’m fine.  I’m a little sore and I know tomorrow will be the worst (2nd day soreness kills).

I do have a slight constant headache that is managable with advil…  but its’ nothing to compared to last night.  Ironically, wanna know what’s hurt?  My thumb.  Apparently I jammed it.  I get thrown in the dirt and I come out fine - except my thumb.  Nice one.

My friend lauren who most of you know, had a nasty little spill as well (less than 24 hours after mine).  I hope she feels… well… not broken.  :bay  So all my horsey friends, take care…  apparently, falling is contagious.

Little still hasn’t had her kittens.  what is up with that?!!?  Hello!  Get it over with!  I want to have the kittens back at the barn by the time I have to move!  so she needs to get her kittens moving on!

Here is my favorite shot.

I had a pretty nasty fall on my own horse, Cook.  I don’t know if it LOOKED nasty, but it sure as hell, FELT bad.  Long story short, I was going to a jump, she did some weird hesitation/stop, I slammed off OVER the jump (completely cleared the jump) and then Cook did jump it….  um… but see..  I was on the ground in front of the jump, which presented a problem.  So by eye witness accounts (mere and rachel), Cook did a funky back leg thing to try and avoid stomping on me and she did… for the most part.

Except for my head.  Her hoof kicked me in the head, which cause my head to hit (harder?) into the ground.  I was laying in a fetal position and I was knocked around a lil bit but it obviously wasn’t hard enough to cause bruises or soreness.  I laid on the ground for about 20-30 seconds, my bell ringing, trying to remember what the hell just happened.
However, the head thing.  I had the WORST, WORST, WORST…  unbelievably bad headache all night.  My head hurt so bad, I went to Urgent Care and the ER.  Urgent Care said they couldn’t help me, and the ER… the lady beind the desk said “you came at the worst time”.  Um. exactly WHEN is a good time to get kicked in the head by your horse?

So I went home and lay down with a wet washcloth on my head and tried to go to sleep (which is my body’s typical way of dealing with all things bad - cramps, vomiting, flu, kicks in the head)

I did manage to go to sleep and my body has seemed to recover which is why I am up at 530AM and blogging now.

Went to the horse show at Triple Creek today. It went pretty well. It was a good first show. It was a good experience in which to build on for the summer.

I have to make some adjustments - on my horse, on Miss, and mostly definitely on my life / schedule. I can’t spin all the plates I have been spinning, get the sleep I have been getting, and go out, expect to show 2 horses and do well…. and keep my temper. I should be more happy about what I was able to accomplish today, however I am not in the mood. At the end of the day, when I say to my blogging audience out there, that I had ZERO patience… I mean, negative numbers of patience.

As I have blogged, I have been doubling, tripling riding to build my wind and strength up, and to learn to adjust to a different horse quickly. I just didn’t take into account how much my energy would be sapped with the pre-show preparations, schooling and showing 2 horses in divisions only separated by 2 flat classes. I came home at 5pm and slept until 6am.
I do wanna blog a ‘big huge’ thank you to Kathy. She trailered me, and was my horse show aid. She schooled Cook while I was on Miss and then traded with me so I could jump both of them. I could not have done it without her. In fact, I learned today that I can’t take both girls unless I have a dedicated hand to help me with them like she was there today. I struggled and she can tack, school, hold, give encourage, etc! I don’t know how I would have gotten by without you.

Kevin was pretty positive and reassuring today. He wasn’t around the whole time ’cause he had alot of other students and horses but it seemed he magically appeared when I needed him the most to make me feel better. Especially at the end of the day, when I was a complete witch, he makes me smile and laugh (mostly at jokes at HIS expense but whatever it takes! )

So today I am taking it easy. I do have to head out to the barn this AM to unload tack, put things away and prolly feed a set. Then I have to come back, DO HOUSE WORK and get some real job Lucent stuff done.

I also hope to take a nap.

and eat.

I slept out at the barn again last night.  No baby.

I spent the night at the barn last night because we thought Tig might give birth. She didn’t.

Neither did Little.  apparently these things happen when THEY want them to.
