I got nothing accomplished today.
what a great feeling. (sarcasm here)
on the other hand, here is an updated cute kitty update. The male kitty is bad - he keeps escaping.

well the best thing I can is that I have slept really well saturday night AFTER taking a 3 hour nap until 9. I was supposed to go and do something with scott, but I had to diss him because I was so tired. Then I went to sleep and had a bad dream where we got into a fight because he wouldn’t take me home when my car broke down. WEIRD.
so anyway this weekend, Rich came up to help me get the house ready. We painted the bedrooms (looks 2000 times better) and did a bunch of hodge podge things. It is a really old house and in the ‘country’ so I expect to have some critters. I may need a cat after all. I haven’t seen anything inside, but we sprayed while my stuff isn’t in there as a preventative. Rich said I will prolly have to on a regular basis. We went all over the property in the daylight to check everything out (and got 2 ticks in the process). Rich is concerned that I am afraid, and he’s right. But it’s just a different living situation that I have ever done (living alone on a house on 5 acres). So far there is a peacock that lives in the yard, deer, ticks, lizards, frogs… yeah I’m a lil scared. But I told him it would get better. Not to mention, while we were there painting, 2 different random people came over and knocked on the door…. yeah that scared the crap out of me.
But everytime I’m nervous, I just remind myself how close Cook is.

I don’t know if this is good or bad.
Here Goes.
I had not looked at any paint samples before Rich came up. I told him we would just go and get some when he got there. we walked in Home Depot, I picked out the brown I wanted immediately (within 20 seconds) and walked up to the counter. Rich stared at me. Paid for the paint, walked out. He said I’m flabbergasted by you, it took me a month to decide on paint and you walk in, pick, and go? You always know what you want.
I DO always know what I want. I may not GET it, but I always KNOW.

I rode Miss yesterday. She was good. I’m gonna try and get back on her today. May walk Cook around. Depends on how her cut looks. I don’t want to reopen it. I may give her another few days off.
wow this day… has been pretty lucky.
first off, as I blog this, they are playing a T.I. marathon on MTV hits. T.I…. he’s sooooooooooooooo fine. I have a silly grin on my face as I watch him.
ok so to recap this day… I’m tired and I need to bust my ass in getting some stuff done here because Rich is coming up tomorrow. We have to paint the bedrooms in the house.
Why am I tired?
Cause Scott took me to The Fray concert last night. He totally pulled a “Rocky” on me.
** A “Rocky” is when a boy takes his “attractive -enough” friend-girl to an event where people will be “coupled”, either because a date is required or because they are trying to make an ex-girlfriend jealous (scott falls into the first category of ‘date required’).
Perks: Get to go to concerts, expensive dinners, NC state games…. usually free or very little cost to you.
Drawbacks: Always last minute, his friends look at you as little more than an un-paid escort, and usually you spend the night babysitting an adult male.
This move was perfected by someone I won’t name.
So anyway we went to the Fray concert and I had a really good time. Being with Scott is 2nd nature.

I rode both girls tonight. I feel like I got things accomplished but Cook’s leg started bleeding AGAIN. So she’s in standings AGAIN. UGH. So I felt like a total jerk for making her work where it opened it back up even though we just trotted… so she will get some time off and let that heal.

OFFICE AND GREY’S TONIGHT!
2.5 week old kitties have teeth. they will bite you.
oh and don’t pick them up with a bra on. cause they will dig in ur skin instead of your shirt.
I have kitty war wounds.
I got the pics from Lauren. She did an awesome job. I owe her big time!! I have so many I love and I don’t want to stick them in a folder so I’m going to post my favorites here.
Lauren…. THANKS SO MUCH! I was in tears over some of these because she is so beautiful.
Just to note (as if you guys can’t tell, the ring was incredibly dusty.)
Ok onto pictures. Here are my top picks.
Favorite Picture Number 1

Favorite Picture Number 2
Favorite Picture Number 3

Favorite Picture Number 4 (I know my head a lil cut off but Cook is beautifully on the bit)

Favorite Picture Number 5

Favorite Picture Number 6

There are a few more that she has to send to me but I don’t see how these can be beat. She looks awesome.
Montgomery and his friend Megan came out to the barn this morning.
Montgomery (age 2) is getting VERY brave for this to be his second time on a horse. (and to her credit, Theresa is very brave to trust I can handle him on a horse). I told her that I want her to come out alot in the next month (cause the weather is bearable and before July) and really get him used to it. This might be my best chance at a Grand prix rider.
As Cook was perfect yesterday, she extended that streak today. She was fabulous, toting Montgomery around and then I hopped on her bareback and put him up front. THAT HORSE PUTS UP WITH ANYTHING I ASK OF HER. I absolutely LOVE you, Mare.
She still had her braids in from the show so she looks EVEN cuter (as if that was possible).
Here are 2 of our best shots.

2nd.

This made my night. I got an email from Meredith’s aunt. She has a pretty little girl named Sasha who has come to the barn and ridden ponies. I took her around on a leadline on Patti the last time she was out.
“My daughter Sasha (age 5.5 yrs old) has been pretending sometimes that she is you and that she is riding Cookie. That’s when she isn’t pretending that she is herself riding Peppermint Patty. Just thought you might like to know you’re a role model!”
Just sweet.
Let’s hope that Sasha is pretending to sit-trot better than I pretend to in real life.
whew am I tired. but I did have fun (in between the intensely long waiting). Cook was absolutely fabulous. she had to stand for a long long long long time. I sat in a chair and held her on a lead rope. she was very affectionate. so here are 2 pics from my camera. Lauren took awesome pictures but I’m not sure when she will DL them for me. (Although I’m foaming at the mouth for them, its’ prolly un-reasonable to text her tonight and ask….)

and here are her braids.

things have gone my way today…. with the exception of Cook rolling in mud after I bathed her. then I had to give her another bath, WHILE lauren was braiding her. Cook looks awesome. I just hope that she stays that way overnight and we can get to the show with her braids looking good.
We (fingers crossed) should have an easy relaxed day. We aren’t jumping, just flatting. Cook will be fresh, she hasn’t been ridden regularly in a couple of weeks due to me being sick and her leg being cut. But all she has to do tomorrow is pose for pictures and walk trot canter me around in a flat class or two. no big deal.
Hopefully by sunday I will have some pictures to show ya’ll.
Until then. have a good weekend.
when I got home from the barn today, I pulled a tick off of my stomach. I got the head out and my stomach was bleeding. how fricking gross is that?
that’s a first.
