really no major update.

I got on Ami and I could feel him so tense and just excited. J asked me if I wanted him to ride him. I did. J and Ami had to have several discussions. All the horses were very up today (I think the weather front coming in, the chill in the air and the wind blowing) but Ami was bordering on ridiculous. Coupled that with the fact we can’t lunge him… makes for an interesting ride. I didn’t get back on him. J didn’t think it would be productive. I agreed.

We are going to change Ami’s feed. I have upp-ed his feed recently in order to put weight on him… HOWEVER, I think NOW it’s making him so HOT that its’ backfiring. So I’m backing down the grain, upp-ing the hay and beet pulp. We’ll see if he returns to normal.

Oh, I forgot to blog my favorite quote from J today, while he was on Ami.

today was a shit day… don’t even feel like blogging about it.

So im gonna go to bed with my hurt hand and call it day.

Today was a Gawd-Awful day. However, a bad day at the barn is better than a good day anywhere else.

The good: I rode a horse I am not very familiar with and ended VERY well on him. Not only was B complimentary, but 2 other people watching complimented my riding as well. He is a good horse but spooky, so you have to be paying attention at all times (I also wore my helmet… I have been slack about wearing a helmet, following in the boys footsteps… which I have been scolded by the older women of the barn for doing so).

The bad: Everything else. There wasn’t ONE thing - just a bunch of stupid things. People letting their kids run everywhere, spooking horses. Ami got spooked and literally dragged me 50 ft, pulling my arm out of its socket. That was the beginning of the loss of my patience. So I lunged Ami. He did great. Got on him. Acted like a total jerk. Was SOOOOOO mad at him. He’s testing me. B got him on and he ended fine. Why do we keep having to argue at the beginning?

Anyway, that’s it for tonight. I’m dirty and I need to shower.

oh, and I can’t find my camera cord! Makes me SO mad!

I may be traveling here in the near future… so I’m loading up blogs to post in my absence.  I probably won’t have internet access while I’m gone.  I’ll let you know my plans when they are confirmed.

And no,  I’m not planning on getting a job any time soon.  And no, I am not worried about money.  And no, I am not looking for a job.  And no, I am not worried about being out of the job market.   And no, I don’t have to pack up my things and share living quarters with Ami.. yet..

And yes, it’s none of your business really.   And yes, I know I can’t do this forever.  And yes, I know there is no money in the horse industry unless you are already loaded.

And yes,  I am very happy.    Thanks for not asking THAT question.

Oh yeah… and a sincere thanks to those (4) friends, (2) family members and (1) boss / (1) boss’s assistant who have expressed support and happiness that I am where I am.
