went to the barn. got irritated at so many people being there. Leg was hurting so temper was bad.

left barn to go grocery shopping, and come home for a bit. Lindsey called (she was gonna help me by holding horses when I clipped) so went BACK out to the barn. So the process is body clip, and mane pull on 6. Have 2 completely body clipped, 1 partially. have 4 manes pulled. So tomorrow, gotta pull last 2 manes and clip one last horse that I *think* (knock on wood) can handle it with no sedatives.

One of the finished horses is McSexy. oh my gosh. so GOOD for the body clipping with nothing, no drugs or twitch.

The other finished horse is so GOOD LOOKING. MAN, he looks AWESOME! I REALLY need to take a picture tomorrow.

Maybe I will wait until J gets back and I can snap a picture with J on him.

Ok the kick story and how it’s my fault. Was pulling the mane on a youngster. First time ever. she was freaked out. I knew this. Got through her mane and then I had to push it and try and clip her whiskers. She let me do about 30 secs, and then she just lost it. I can’t even really tell you what happened. She went up, and struck out and got me.

Have a nice bruise to show for it.

B rode Ami today.  He only tried being naughty twice.  B cantered him around.  he seemed fine.

Oh and I took him in the indoor to sniff around for the first time.  Seemed un-impressed.

today was one of those days I wouldn’t have blogged if I wasn’t doing this 365 thing.

my “seven ” is messed up on my keyboard.

I got kicked by a horse today and it was my fault.  I’m fine but there is gonna be a massive bruise on my leg there tomorrow.

Ami was naughty under saddle.

So as in the previous comment, it’s out that I am going to FL with the boys.  B won’t be there the whole time, he is coming back to continue the training of the ones we are leaving behind.  I sort of want to come back with him… don’t want to be gone the whole 2 weeks, but this is the opportunity of a lifetime that any horse person would kill for… so I know I shouldn’t complain.  I think I will be fine once I get down there… I just worry about Birdie, the 2 kitties and Ami.  Lindsey has promised to care for Ami, Rachel has promised to brush him and B has promised to ride him.

So that’s why I am body clipping EIGHT horses.

I have hair everywhere.   Showering doesn’t even completely get rid of it.

So today I just worked on TRYING to finish the 3 I started yesterday.  I seriously worked all day on just basically that.  I should take pictures tomorrow of the one I am most proud of.  He looks like a rock star.  Bays always clip nicely.  Sometimes when you have a chestnut, they turn pumpkin orange when clipped.

I’m really trying to save some posts to blog in place while I am gone.  Eric said he would post one each night.

I expect my faithful readers (all 3 of you) to still comment!  I am gonna try to check in from the road but not sure how that will go or how busy I will be.  (or how much wireless internet will be around.)

What the heck does that mean?

That means I was by myself and didn’t have anyone to hold the horse to finish their face, belly and some of their legs.

I am VERY proud of myself. I have seen clippings not go so well. I have a relationship with these horses, I am starting early enough to not be in a rush, and I’m patient and calm. I am happy that I got as much done as I did with very little help (the boys had to ride). So I bathed, show sheen-ed, let them dry with coolers, and then clipped. First horse is afraid of everything but sane and not mean at all. I knew he would be frightened but holding his head up and snorting do not bother me. (as long as he didn’t run me over or squish me against the wall). I just treated him alot at first and he chilled out. 2nd horse was harder. He is the most un-done. He wouldn’t let me do his legs, or face. Third horse was McSexy, who I KNEW would be good. He’s just so chill about everything that I KNEW he would stand there and fall asleep. He did.

I regularly keep their manes pulled, however, I need to go back over some of them, so that will be part of the process as well. I have 8 and none are complete - complete. But it was a good start.

Ami - The wind here was nuts and the horses were NUTS.  loony tunes.  so I wasn’t missing riding.  However, I wanted Ami ridden.  I tacked him up, and went out to the ring to watch Jim ride him.  I didn’t even dress to ride today and didn’t have my chaps or helmet.  He did fine.  Still likes to be testy at the beginning.  Today, he wasn’t as much testy, as he was just freaked (like every other horse).

Tired today so this will be short.  Trying to get things sorted out for traveling.  Will update with specifics when specifics are decided.

Also, alot of people now have the protected password.  Not that I really care TOO much, its’ mostly stuff that I just don’t want barn kids or random people reading…  However, I don’t want to change it because then I have to go through the whole thing of people asking me for it… and then trying to figure out how to politely tell people ‘No you can’t have it.”

But I have to figure out how to put stuff somewhere with a different password on pics and videos I don’t want the whole world to see or paste to their friends.

Hmm.  Haven’t thought about it that much yet.  Suggestions are welcome.  Prolly an email list would be best instead of posting it on the blog, huh?

Finally! A good day!

All my rides today were really really well behaved and I felt really good on them. I’m learning! My hands are so sore and starting to blister from the reins. I need to start wearing gloves…

2 of my rides included Ami and Miss.

Ami was still naughty (still backing OFF the grain) but I was much more aggressive in disciplining him. I stayed on my horse for a long time today. J did hop on at the end when Ami was giving me more trouble. I was wearing out and Ami was losing patience. But he was much much better than he has been. J was asking today when we can REALLY work him - prolly not for 2 more weeks. Until then, its’ the same trotting in circles that he is bored and pissed off with. He wants to GO - but I don’t want to re-injure his foot. He is sound and I want him to stay that way.

Miss was good. She has settled better and I actually popped her over a few fences today. I am gonna put her in the pelham tomorrow and attempt some courses. We’ll see.

A person at the barn took some pictures of Ami for me.  Omigod, I look SO gross!  I look so fat!  I REALLY need to drop some weight.   That was a big reality check.  I knew I had to go up a size in pants and had put on some weight but good lord!  UGH!  TERRIBLE.  So my first thing is to stop the alcoholic beverages (1 million calories) and drink WATER.
